Panama City Beach is a city located in Bay County along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in the Northwest region of Florida; 98 miles southwest of Tallahassee.

  • The community is in the Central Standard Time zone.
  • Average water temperatures of 72 degrees combined with an average air temperature of 78 degrees creates mild subtropical temperatures for year-round enjoyment.
  • Panama City Beach averages an elevation of 13 feet above sea level.
  • The City was incorporated in 1977 and the City Charter was adopted in 1978.
  • Panama City Beach's population in 2006 is estimated to be 9,500 permanent residents but increases to a peak daily population of approximately 90,000 in July.
  • Panama City Beach has a full-time employment base of approximately 12,000 jobs.
